i tried feeding mine rosey reds but it couldn't catch them, i would offer something else, they really like crix and will eat a lot of them. mine has been fully developed for about 3 months and i've seen it on land once, to eat. they are very spazy and (usually) when they see people they dive into the water for cover. i would suggest putting plants in, they seem to like it so half their body is submerged.
