I am here to pay my respects to the great Steve Irwin. Few achieve the status of living legend, as he did. I know we will look back years from now and realize what an icon we saw from the moment we became aware of the man they called “The Crocodile Hunter”. I guess a lot of us reptile nuts had a bit of Steve Irwin in us that we could personally relate to. My sister said it best to me a few years ago when we were talking about him. She said to me “Man, the first time I saw him I felt ripped off! That could have been you!”. I had been messing with gators and snakes from a very early age. So today I think, it could have been me. (I have been stung by a stingray too) I guess it’s a good thing my parents didn’t own a reptile park. Never thought I’d say that. My thoughts and condolences go out to Terry and the kids. The legend lives on, he will be missed but never forgotten. Thanks to Jeff and Kingsnake.com for setting this up and allowing us a forum to pay our respects.
