I haven't posted here before. I used to keep reptiles as a child, and now my children keep them. And I have dived on the Barrier Reef and handled the poisonous sea-snakes (not as dangerous as it sounds). I am a great admirer of Steve Irwin because, while it is easy to get people concerned about chimpanzees, elephants and lions, Steve Irwin did it for a group of creatures that most people seem to instinctively dislike.
Anyway, to the point: Is anyone planning anything for next Wednesday, the day of Steve Irwin's memorial service, for those who can't easily get to Queensland?
I was thinking of holding a memorial BBQ, wearing khaki, breaking out the XXXX and maybe getting the garter snakes out and waving them around by the tail a bit. (That last bit was a joke )
Does anyone have any other ideas (esp. in the UK) ?
cheers
Gareth
