well i recently bought a pair of diadem ratsnakes at the Daytona show and im now keeping them under my bed in my dorm room at school. everything was going well, both animals are feeding, the female looked especially heavy and took a pre killed rat without hesitation last weekend and i left her in the box she was in to digest for a few days before putting her back. yesterday morning i looked into the box and noticed 8 eggs. some dont look particularly good however a few look alright. i have not noticed the snakes locked up and i dont believe ive had them together long enough for this to happen however, i bought them as a pair and its possible they were together before that and the female was gravid when they sold her to me. my main concern is fattening her back up right now but i plan on going out and getting what i need for the incubator just to see if i can hatch anything out. Ive never incubated eggs before and i was wondering if there were any precautions i should know about in regards to the egg incubation temps and conditions of this species. is there a reliable way to tell if the eggs are fertile? i dont really have a good flashlight or know exactly what im looking for if i were to candle them. again, some eggs are white, have a good shape and feel relatively solid while some are a little sunken in and are a little yellow.

thanks in advance for any help
