One of my musk turtles wasn't doing too well. When I took her out she was lethargic and seemed to have a slimy film on plastron feet and face. Her carapace is fine. I put her in a hospital set up with a 24hr basking light. I have put a saline solution on her eyes 3 times a day and added a few drops of chlorahexadine to the .5 inch of water that she soaks in while under the light. She goes to the vet on Monday as I couldn't get her in sooner.

The other turtles, musks, seem fine and looked good when I took a look at them. THey are eating well and quite active too. They are in a 90 gallon with a UVA/b light and a basking spot light. However my husband move the log that they had used for basking to be under the uva/b light about 6 weeks ago.

2 questions until Monday.
I've read about sulfa blocks, do they come in sizes larger than 15 gallon size? Do they work? Who has used them and with what results?

Not sure why the one has the film and the others don't. Could it be because the basking log was moved in which case I'll move it back immediately?

That was more than 2 questions I know. Here are a few more.
I read about adding salt to the water to keep bacterial and algae growth down, but I do not know the type of salt to use or how much to add.

I have a good Fluval filter that is capable of hadling a tank twice the size of mine, I have live plants from my ponds outside: water hyacinth, elodia (not sure on the spelling), and water lettuce. There are plenty of minnows and rosies that also live in the tank.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated to help until the vet can see her on Monday. I've had the trio for 5 years and this is the first time one of them has gotten ill.
