KenW,

Your frogs cage will be acceptable. However, these are burrowing frogs by nature and given this, will need some way to cover themself. Without such cover it is likely that your frog will remain stressed for as long as it is in the barren enclosure. I too have tried this method, with almost the same reason, and found that, in fact, they require more maintenence this way as opposed to a simple terrestrial setup. This is because every time the frog deficates the entire enclosure must be cleaned, whereas if the frog were to be kept on soil with a water dish, only the water dish would require changing (when soiled) and the tank would only have to be cleaned once every month or so so long as feces are removed promptly. This type of terrestrial setup is more natural, less stressful, and more visually apealing to any onlookers. Give it a try and see what happens. Good luck.
