Yes, they need space. But most specimens do not reach record sizes my two males have not fully reached 2 ft.
I do not have the kind of pic available, you asked for. But maybe I will make up for that.
Slightly off topic, but since you are talking about lizards size:
Here you see a pic showing the size of my largest G. bellii male in comparison to a basilisk male

And here you see a pic showing the size of my female oustaleti. ..the male is like 30% larger :D


These animals are one reason, why I do not have too many tanks. The tanks I do have, have to be relatively big...
