Anyway, the day after she layed the eggs she soaked again and I found the last egg in the water bath. So, 17 eggs total. Now its just a waiting game!

50 isn't too bad. Last winter mine spent several weeks in the 40's and faired well. I am impressed with their ability to weather these temperature drops.

My biggest scare was the group that was sent from California in December a few years ago. There was a delay for some reason and they took about 14 days to ship. The temps dipped below freezing. -15 seems to come to mind. Anyway, the day they arrived I went to the post office and when they weren't here I went to my truck and broke down. I cried to think that these poor guys had frozen to death somewhere. I gathered myself and drove home. When I got to the house there was a phone message that I had a delivery that had just arrived at the post office and to come pick it up after hours. I went back to the post office and picked up my package and in the truck I opened it to find all of the animals quite still but very much alive. I took them home and offered them worms which all ate first night! Very hardy animals!
