Thanks for the e-mail regarding the replies to this post!
Yes the turtle was not severely injurred so I cleaned her up and had Jason let her go. She was quite a beauty! Very alert and other than the scrape on her shell, she was perfect in every way. I actually didn't believe it was a woodie at first lol. Figurred it must be a box turtle but that far north definitley makes sense for it to be a wood turtle. Also it goes to show how cold tolerant these animals are. It's been pretty cold here in NJ but that didn't seem to stop this turtle just yet.

Oh and yes Ken, Leone has no "i" in it lol. No big deal Jason, no one gets it right.

Harriet, I had no idea there was a turtle rescue in NJ!! I will have to keep you in mind especially for all the badly hurt turtles we come in contact with. Every year people bring hurt turtles to us. Definitely a good contact to have, if that woodie was hurt bad we would have had to get her to you.

All in all we helped the turtle out and Jason got her back home.
It was a good day!
