Chop-chop the dumpy frog is my favorite subject. He's very patient.

Biggest problem is his shiny surface. If I use flash then that means a lot of time with the cloning tool in Photoshop.

Equipment: Nikon D70, Sigma 105 macro lens, compatible nikon digital flash (can't recall model) on an extension cord with wide-angle diffuser in place. Flash set on manual output.

In both of these photos I used one flash slightly off to the frog's left, with white umbrellas behind and to his right to help kick in some light. The settings were about F8 at 1/125th at iso 200.

I adjusted brightness, contrast and sharpness, and also cloned out excess glare. My cloning skills are poor.
