We went to the Reptile show in Columbia, SC this weekend and my daughter fell in love with a marginated tortoise. It's about 3 inches long and we think a female. Have had no trouble finding info on housing, feeding and other basics but we are totally lost as to hibernating. Do we have to hibernate her this year. If so, please give me basic directions. If not, then when will it be necessary to hibernate her? We live in the southern past of SC so when spring comes she'll get plenty of outside time.
Hope these aren't stupid questions. Any info would be greatly appreciated
