I have taken care of reptiles for years, but this is the first time I have ever attemted to hiberante any of them. About a week ago I turned off all my lights for my two DHLs after following the instructions given on Phrynosoma.org for preparing HLs for hibernation. The temperature in my tank is now around 55 degrees. The problem I have is that one of the HLs never borrowed under the sand and is just laying on top of the sand while the other just has its head poked out. Is this okay? Should I be concerned?

Also, if at any point later in hibernation they should emerge, should I offer them water?

I think that is it, thanks for your help.
