Then they get one mouse every few months. The reason they say to feed baby horned frogs mice is because they are vulnerable to MBD which is brought about by a lack of calcium, vitamin D3 and a few other trace substances in the diet. If, however, you dust the invertebrate food items you should be fine. There are a million different ways you can care for your horned frog, just like any other pet.
