Is there a lot of endimism there? On another mimicry note, those porphyracea can look a lot like some Sinomicrurus sp., but I have to wonder how much of it is mimicry, vice a more practical illusionary pattern ( I can't remember that term)........probably some of both, with warning colors being real for Sinomicrurus, and the striped/banded pattern being practical for quick fleeing serpents, as both are.
