If they are ~2 years or older I just put them in a small aquarium with enough water to cover their shell and put them out in our garage, (central AL). The temps do fluctuate but normally its around 60 or so. I don't think it ever gets below 45 but it will sometimes get in the high 70's. I leave them there from mid Nov to mid Feb.
