If you purchased the firebellies through a pet store, they are probably Cynops orientalis (see http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/firebelly.shtml )

As an adult this is a small species that is often mistaken for an immature newt. See http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Cynops/C_orientalis.shtml for good instructions.
