The actual temps are fine but the problem with basking lights is ball pythons don't come out to bask. Also you can't leave the light on all the time to maintain the temperature during the night. Under tank heats are better for this as they produce no visible light, just heat. Unless you use something like a ceramic heat emitter or a bulb that produces little to no light visible to your snake, the UTH is the best way to go.
