I am not a tortoise expert but there are a fair number of tortoises that would do well in the space you can provide. I beleive the following would do well in your indoor space:

Leopard tortoise, Russian Tortoise, Star Tortoise, Yellow foot tortoise, and Red Foot Tortoise.

Not sure which one of these are the easiest or best for a beginner but they will deffinitely do fine in the indoor inclosure you can provide. Best thing to do is look up each tortoise online and read through care sheets etc, to see which is easiest for you to keep and available. Checking the classifieds here on kingsnake may show listings of these tortoises and posibly others I can't think of that would be suitable. It is always best to do a large amount of research to ensure you can properly care for any animal.
