Here is a photo I took last Spring of an adult female butler's garter snake. They are rather richly coloured compared to an eastern garter and are smaller. They have a short, narrow head and never bite (at least I'v never been bitten by one of these).
Herperjames, I like the way you have secret spots. I have a few of those myself It's a good practice, by keeping these places secret you are protecting them from the biggest threat of all.....but you already know this.
As for my Canadian lifelist....not too impressive. I have many, many more in the US.
