This weekend I've been going for walks and checking out parks looking for places to herp in spring, and I also put some boards down at my snake spot. Yesterday, while outside getting boards ready to go, we found a ladybug alive on our front steps. This was a very exciting find! Then when we went for a little walk in the woods and found some berries growing and some shrubs sprouting up in the open. And today while looking for frog habitat we heard a robin call. Maybe spring is coming early here in Calgary . Also, a question for those in Ontario; what is herping like in may there? I am probably flying out to the Kingston for a week in May, and I definetely want to do some herping. Would amphibians still be breeding? I would love to find a spotted salamander and a gray treefrog. How would I go about finding snakes there in May; by roadcruising or flipping cover or just hiking? Thanks,
James
