Whatever you do DO NOT PUT TOKAY'S IN. You'd simply be giving the little psycho's a free snack! I have 2 Tokay's myself and they really are purely, instinctively agressive and massively territorial in their behaviour. Whilst they may seem timid, and shy away from our contact, believe me they are fearless!
These gecko's really aren't or shouldn't be reccommended as pets. Definately not in any way suitable for communal herp keeping. They are great as a display gecko, but the keeper must be quite experianced. I am always aware of the possibility of being bit by them. I exercise great care during feeding and even greater care during cleaning out. I have been bit (during my 1st clean out)by my big male, ambushed from the tank lid during feeding by the female and had to deal with the female when she decided to go walkabout during a tank clean! Imagine a 10" pit bull faster than you screaming 'brak-brak-gugugugugugu'like a prehistoric preditor and your getting close to the idea!!
Personally, I wouldn't put anything else in with my leo's other than other leo's. Never ever put 2 males in the same viv. One will for sure severely injure, but more likely kill the other. Leo's are quite happy alone, often even showing signs of prefering solitary vivs. Obviously, someone will have shared viv's with other species succesfully, and probably disagree with me, but at the end of the day, I have never heard or read anything that confirms in the wild, leo's are known to share their 'pad' with any other species of herp. As keepers it is our responsibility to create an as natural as possible living environment for our herps whatever they may be, in order to keep them healthy and stress free.
Hope I've helped.......good luck my friend!
