I have 2 adult Fowler's in a false bottom 29 gallon tank. It's planted and has a small water area. I cannot find one of the toads anywhere. It is virtually impossible for the toad to escape the tank...and I can't see him anywhere in the small water area. The room is probably in the lower 70's or high 60's. Is it possible that the toad has buried itself for hibernation?? Or if not in hibernation, for how many days can a toad stay buried? I tried to dig up all the areas I could get to as there are 2 larger sized braches, rocks, pothos and a lemon button fern in the way. I'm so mad....I can't figure this out. I hope he's in there somewhere, but I haven't seen him for several days now. The attached is an old picture of the tank. The plants have grown quite a bit since then. I've also recently added quite a bit more soil (so they had more room to bury).
