Hi! Breeding most species of snakes is not a difficult process providing you set up your animals correctly. If you search the threads you can find some great info on breeding dumeril's!



I can add a couple of tidbits

*Be aware that it takes many years for dumeril's to mature

*They shouldn't be inbred under any circumstances

*Females are gravid for more than half the year

*If your husbandry is not up to par, the babies may be still born, you may get slugs, or even deformities!

*This is not something you should attempt unless you are really passionate about the species. If you can't sell the babies, you should have no problem housing, feeding, and caring for them as long as it takes to find them a good home. Last year I had eleven baby ball pythons hatch out, and it took 5-6 months for me to find them all good homes. During that time, I had them all individually housed and kept careful records on each of them(I loved every minute of it).

*Breeding Dumeril's is not a money making endevor, but a labor of love! Be happy if the hobby pays for itself, but don't plan on buying a car off your proceeds (I put all of my $ back into the hobby, I can't get enough of it all and therefore will always be in the negative).
