This 40g breeder is the best investment I've made since last Jan. when I got the 55g long for the male painted.
Scooter has surprised me so much with this new tank.
In the 30g I bought for him he was miserable, I just could not sit by & watch him stay so stressed out so I put him back in the old tub.
I was being extremely cautious with this new 40 breeder because of how he behaved with the 30 but have found that I don't need to be.
He's happy as can be in there, I can't get over it. He's using the floating dock as a hide when he wants to hide so I took his old hide box out & he didn't care! I've raised the water level & he didn't care. I put a thick rock in the tank so that he can sit on that if he wants an area that's more shallow yet still underwater. So far he has not used the floating dock to sit on but that's ok.
Every morning when I go to check on everyone the lights are already on because they are on timers.
He's up, all over the tank & being very active.
This is awesome, I wish I'd had this tank sooner!
It's wonderful!
