Guys! I'm glad you are learning about these things, but spurs are a basic part of boa/python anatomy. In many pythons, the spur size is the same for males and females. In most boas, the spurs are larger in males than females, but in dumeril's, females do not have these spurs visable at all. Spurs are hooks by the snake's vent, they are attached to a pelvis.
