After much thought and having tried a couple of smaller filters, I bit the bullet this weekend and bought another Magnum 350 canister filter for my 75 gallon tank.
Sort of a pain to hook up but MAN! what a difference! You could drink the water from this aquarium now. Of course, there is only one female K.s.cruentatum in it at the moment so there is not that much of a load but still, I had two Fluval 3s going on it before with minimal results.
The only drawback is the current put out by the return tube but I installed a diverter and that helps cut down the flow.
PHRatz is correct...spend the $$ and do things right.
