My red foot is my first tortoise, as long as you keep the moss damp, make sure there is always water is his dish, and get a couple of appropriately sized Tupperware turned upside down, filled with damp moss, and with doors cut in them, humidity shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'm not sure if it's true or not but I read that red foots take 10-15 years to reach full size so you have time to get him more space. They can get around 18 inches long, smaller beginners tortoises are Russians and Hermann's. I wanted Hermann's originally but I couldn't find any so I got a red foot instead and I'm happy I did.
