this past friday i was given a russian tortoise as a gift from my mom, she told me she got it at petco and im well aware of the the trouble this can be being that its probably WC
but it seems to be healthy i checked for wheezing, bubbling in the nostrils, open mouthed breathing, eye excretions, worms in feces... etc etc
but none were present
so im assuming all is fine?
shes about 4.5" head to tail, shes shedding, she eats well, she she walks around digging into the substrate and just sits in her burrows under the basking light
i soaked her in some water yesterday, she responds to everything fine
the only thing that seems to be worrying me is the fact that she sleeps a lot more then anything else she also has minor chips on the top of her shell that i think could have possibly come from her being WC

i havent had the chance to take her to a vet because there arent many in my area(Bronx NY), and some economic issues

i have her in a 50g rubbermaid bin for now, with bed a beast substrate and a basking lamp im also going to get another UVlamp today

i just want to know if she seems healthy enough to not worry at the moment until i can take her to vet?

feedback will be highly appreciated,
thanks alot,
Willy
