>I do have veggies and greens mixed in her food as well
...
>I also have her in a custom made tank and i have tile down with carefresh bedding.

No veggies, no tank, no carefresh bedding.
Weeds and some dark-green leaves (not iceberg lettuce).
Tortoise table.
Substrate = 50% coir (coconut fiber, e.g., Bed-a-Beast, etc.) 50% play sand or similar components.

>Is perilite ok?

Absolutely NOT. The tort will try to eat many "white" items, possibly assuming these are a source of calcium; perlite may cause impaction and big vet bills. Even "potting soil" that has a small portion of perlite should be avoided.

>...they DO make a sound when going back into their shells correct?

Yes, an expulsion of air from the lungs as the head and forelegs are pulled into the shell.
