I have a question concerning substrate.

I had four of these guys several years ago which I brought back from the brink after import...treating them and fattening them up. Had them for 3 years and they did great. Then I lost all of them within a month of each other...necropsy showed impaction of the moss I was using for substrate.

I have three new animals being delivered soon and am looking for substrate ideas. I will be starting them in a quarantine situation and have a little time but I need something that is soft enough that feeding will not cause abrasions and also that won't be an issue as far as accidental ingestion causing impaction.

Thanks for your ideas...
