Never mix species is the rule of thumb. If you add fish be prepared for them to become a meal which you really don't want unless they are guppies. The dorsal fin on most fish can harm the insides of the toad. However, guppies and goldfish are okay. Now, goldfish aren't that great in that they produce a lot of ammonia and are fatty and not very nutritious for the toads.
Now, to counter-attack what I just said.....before I found out all of this information, I had added danios, white cloud minnows, and ghost shrimp. None of my toads ever ate them. One of my fbts did attack a ghost shrimp but never caught him. It looked more like a game to the fbt.
As for mealworms, don't give the big ones unless you take off their heads. I only feed the baby ones and even then do it as a treat or when I run out of other types of food. They aren't that great for them nutritionally speaking.
Hope I've helped.
