Their temperaments are pretty good and my pair is very handleable. If you disturb them in their cage though, they put on a great show with head flattening, hissing and closed mouth striking. Like many snakes, once they are picked up, they settle right down. In the few months I have had them, I have found them to be great eaters and really easy to keep with no special requirements, kinda like corns or other rats. I'm hoping they breed easily too! I suspect the real challenge with these guys will be getting the hatchlings going. It's too bad they are so rarely available. Hardly ever see ANY Teloscopus species for sale anywhere.
