It is unfortunate to hear the laws in Mexico are the same as the U.S. Maybe a herpatologist in Mexico can aquire animals for a breeding project and export them legally to the U.S. This tactic would help deter the illegal trade if the animals are readily availble from breeders. That same policy would also help above the border. The laws really have to be amended.
