I just got two Southern Painted turtles for my son's new pond. He set it up for turtles only with the proper filters, and top rocks overlaping....etc. There is a large stone for basking also. The person who I got the turtles from said that they can hibernate in the winter outside. The pond in deep enough, and there is enough mud on the botton. We live in New York, and I just wanted to make sure that they can hibernate outside. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
