I think I've read the subspecies has a nasty bite, however I've been witness to viewing a couple people being chewed on badly and they never had any reaction themselves. Many years ago, I had one barely sink one fang in a finger through a leather glove and it tingled a bit and itched etc and swelled very little and it was interesting how that tiny fang made it through the leather gloves. And I do have a mate for it and its a matter of next year to fatten this gal up and hope she came in gravid from the wild in the first place.

And get ready to crap your pants as I was successful to breed my Siphlophis compressus and believe she is gravid with 2-3 eggs.

Dan
