so i've got a taiwan beauty (o. taeniuria friesi last i checked, ha!) and he's about 29" right now.

he's in a tank that's 20 inches long, 12 inches high, and i think it's about time to graduate.

The question is should i bother with an intermediate tank with the way these guys grow, or go straight to a 55 gal?

It's a common size tank that I can get for around 60 bucks used, and if i put him in a 30 gal or so i'm just going to have to move him out of it in 4 months at this rate.

Opinions?

I guess the basic question is are there significant drawbacks to putting a 30-35" snake in a 55 gallon tank.

fyi i also have a 5 month old nelson's milk that will inherit his 10 gal and eventually have to graduate herself, but she could get the 55 gallon when I build the ratsnake his adult sized enclosure.

Thanks! Xposting this in old world ratsnakes forum btw.
