I was in Cal.last week looking for zonata( parvirubra) on the coastal side of the San Jacinto Mtns. The area my buddy and I were hunting has been over collected over the years so we decided to scout out some new locales. We found a nice hillside in the same general area we were hunting that didn't look like anyone had ever hunted before. The access was a little challenging but we were able to get to it anyway. While combing the hillside we found a pair of phyrrus basking together and were totally blown away because we had only ever seen them in the desert such as Yucca Valley or on the drier side of the San Jacintos. The east and west side of the mountain range are dramatically different.Anyway we ended up seeing a total of 5 phyrrus and one really nice young adult zonata parvirubra in the same area.Has anyone else ever seen zonata and phyrrus together? We also found helleri in the area as well which is common to find zonata and helleri together.I'm having trouble downloading the pics.E-mail me for pics if interested, thanks Brook infinitewealth4life@hotmail.com
