My daughter and I found a RES upside down, on the side of the road that had been hit by a car about a month ago.

We brough him home to clean his wounds and as they were getting better we set up a large wading pool with a basking log for him.

We've had very heavy rains all week and although I drained some water from the pool yesterday he apparantly got out.

The pool was on our driveway and we have woods on one side of our house and driveway, so we think he probably went into the woods, which are several acres in size.

Does anyknow know enough about slider behavior to know if he is likely to go as far as he can away, or is he likely in the area somewhere?

We have no ponds that I know of, anywhere near by.

I searched in the woods for an hour this morning, they are very overgrown with all the rain, but all I found were several ticks.

Thanks for any info.
