If those are full size adults, I'd say you have two females. The one sitting on top of the other, might just be the more dominant lizard trying to get out of the wet substrate. Like FunkyRes said, the substrate should be fairly dry or you'll be inviting bacterial infections. Courtship consists of a lot of biting. The male will grab and bite at the female's tail when courting and then grab her by the head.

I think that the winter brumation period is critical for fertile eggs. I'm not trying to breed my southerns so I keep them at room temp over the winter. They breed in the spring, but the eggs are almost always duds.
