Kingsnake has done a great job of creating an all encompassing set of forums related to pet care in general. The downside to that is that it is difficult to maintain quality control. I'm not saying that these are bad forums, it's just that there are higher levels of expertise on other forums in many of these areas. In this example caudata.org and caudata culture are hands down the two best english language sites relating to newt and salamander husbandry. I would venture to guess that at least 90% or more of the FAQ on this forum can be directly answered by reading one of the Caudata Culture articles. Any other questions are most likely covered in the caudata.org forum archives, if not then there are always knowledgeable and experienced people on hand to answer new questions. Anyone taking on the responsibility of any kind of animal (or plant for that matter) should be given the best information in order to give the best care. It definitely should not be looked at as any sort of contest.
