I recently visited the Oklahoma City Zoo and was amazed at the size of the alligator snapping turtle they have on display. In the first picture my girlfriend is standing in front of the tank to give some sort of scale (she's about 5'6). However it was way too dark for that to really work. I've never seen a turtle this big, no toruses or even sea turtles. It didn't say how much it weighed and I couldn't really give a good estimate. I have seen a 96 pounder before and this turtle looked to be about three times that. The shell had to be over 36 inches. It was awesome!
