Posted by: tegu24 at Mon Jun 11 22:31:52 2007 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by tegu24 ] i would check with your state dec/wildlife office to make sure they are legal to obtain, i know in NY you need a permit and have to show cause to legally have one. you may need to check federal protected species lists to, i don't remember if they are on ther or not. they are not as common as most people think in PA. they are more common in kentucky and tennessee and bordering states, though ohio has a good population. they are not common in the pet trade either due to restrictions and the fact that they are an uncommon species and don't seem to breed in captivity easily.
