Hi all,

I have two Yellow foot about 3 years old - boy and girl – I hope.

What is their UVB requirement?

I have read a few posts and read many articles with different views on UVB requirements. Some say they need as much as I can give them, others say none.

There are a few things to remember about yellow foots

1. They are very, very diurnal and go into their shells every night. If they want to eat they will have to go out into the sun.

2. They live in the tropics (Lots of sun)

3. They live in jungles (living in dappled light) – Red foots live in more open savanna.

Right now I have a 160W UVB mercury vapor light that comes on at 5pm and goes off at 10pm (5 hours in total).
