If he just got put in there and you tried feeding him he is probably stressed the hell out and you should back off of trying for a week or so because to many crickets and when they run on them stresses them out more. If a tokay is shy it means it is unhappy with its caging. Provide more hiding spots and lots of plants fake or real. Mine eat pinkys mice right in front of me like I wasnt even there so yes they will eat with you watching. I feed mine about 3 times week and I feed my pair about 24-30 to split so most of them are ate by morning. Do you provide heat for them and what is the humidity?
