But this is the basic gist. I built the aquarium myself, so the base is 24" by 24" and 12" high. It's got about an inch to an inch and a half of gravel on the bottom. I've added a few more things for him to hide under, along with adding cardboard on the side and back of the aquarium so he doesn't feel so open and exposed. I've also extended the filter's out-flow to the opposite end of the tank to create more surface disturbance amd give it a better current.
