Timber rattlers have been pretty scarce in my neck of the woods for several years now. You rarely hear of anyone encountering them and I've never seen a live one in the 13yrs I've been here, only seen 1 roadkill a few years ago.

Early afternoon, the other day, I saw one in the middle of the oncoming lane, just beginning to attempt its trek across the road. One truck straddled it and I got to it before the next car did.

I took a few pics before I released it safely on the other side of the road and thought I'd share them with ya'll.

It was aprox. 3ft long with 9 rattles & a button. Oh, and it had quite an attitude at first, too. LOL! It was obvious that it had never been handled with two hooks before.

Have a good one!
