I would place a clear KritterKeeper on the floor with either a dead mouse or some large active roaches and then place some plastic bags around gaps and such near appliances etc for noise. if you hear the bags, or the KK's getting knocked around your rouge tegu is there and you might also try flour in some areas to track foot prints. it might be sleeping for a while if your basement is cold but placing some ground turkey or some good high quailty canned catfood in a dish just might intise (sp) him out. hope this helps. we found ours everywhere...we let him run free in the living room a lot. taught him to bask in the window and even feed him exclusively from a dish on the floor there. he's learned to stay in that room if he wants a roach.

8-)
