He was calm when I first got him as an import, but that was probably because he wasn't feeling very well. Now that he's parasite free and eating, he's pretty defensive. He spends most of the time hiding, so I wouldn't say they are good display snakes. I did a stupid thing and got a pretty serious bite(he got me right in the crook of my elbow and chewed a bit), and the venom burned and my arm swelled for a couple of days and it felt tingly like that pins and needles asleep feeling, but after a few days it was perfectly fine.
