I have not heard anything against using ground turkey before this thread, but I would not use dog and cat food. I would especially not use a dry food. It seems my tegus drink a lot of water and dry foods are dehydrating. Feeding animals is part of the expense of owning them. Frozen rodents can be found in bulk pretty inexpensively as opposed to pet stores. I feed ground turkey meatballs mixed with the proper quantity of vitamins and calcium, organ meats, chicken, fish, steak (if I'm eating it I just cut off a piece before I cook it and wash it thoroughly), as well as fresh fruits and veggies and frozen mice. I have about 30 animals and it gets expensive, but proper nutrition is the cornerstone to their health.
