Can anyone really answer this All boas and pythons for that matter (and all animals really) have their own growth pattern. Your snake is nearing its adult size, but unless you have feeding records from the previous owner you can't say whether he was powerfed, or rarely fed, and therefore it is hard to say whether he is a bigger two year old, or a smaller 6 year old!
